Bombay HC questioned reliability of Salman’s Bodgaurd witness

The Bombay High Court will be announcing the verdict on the Salman Khan's 2002 hit-and-run case very soon. Recently the court had questioned the credibility of Salman Khan's bodyguard Ravindra Patil for the prosecution.

 The court said “if the witness is partly reliable then authentication is required. Ravindra Patil cannot be considered as a wholly reliable witness”. Earlier Bombay Session Court had sentenced Salman for five year imprisonment for 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder'.Salman Khan's defense counsel Amit Desai appealed against the conviction in Bombay high court, The court suspended the sentence and asserted that the lower court committed an error by admitting Ravindra Patil statement.  

 The Bombay High Court on Tuesday cited several lacunae pertaining to the procedures for checking the presence of alcohol in the blood samples of Bollywood megastar Salman Khan and lack of concrete material on the issue that he had consumed liquor in a bar before the hit-and-run accident on September 28, 2002.
