South African woman caught trying to sell her baby online

  20 year old Zama Bongiwe Madlala, a South African mother has admitted to trying to sell her baby on the online site Gumtree. In October she set the price $380 to give away the infant under the disguised post of baby car seat. After receiving information the police blocked the user's account and planned a plot to catch the mother.

An indian woman appeared as to buy the boy and believing her, Zama went to KFC store to sell the baby. While the two are exchanging money the police caught her redhandedly and presented in court.Zama pleaded guilty for trying to sell her baby and the court granted her bail said Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, a spokeswoman for the National Prosecuting. She told since Zama's boyfriend refused to pay to look after the boy, assuming that he was not the child's biological father. For these reasons Zama wanted to get rid of the infant and lodge a selling offer of the boy on online.

  Zama initially denied being the child's mother while selling off and finally accepted before the police. Police officer Mthokozisi Ngobese interviewed her why she wanted to sell her baby and filed human trafficking charges. The child is now under the care of social workers and he is in good health, said officials.
